The innocence of the infant Jesus who would one day redeem mankind, and the love, true and utterly selfless, of his parents. This design reminds of us of that most powerful message.

The obverse depicts a smiling infant Jesus in the loving embrace of his parents on the day of his birth. His surroundings were humble, but the importance of that moment is celebrated every year and expressed perfectly in the phrase "Joy to the World".
